The Vu Lab

Research

Our overall aim is to develop new technologies to mitigate suffering for those living with or in remission from diseases. Simple, robust imaging probes coupled with compatible instrumentation and data extraction algorithms have tremendous potential to improve our capability to capture and understand basic disease dysfunction and change clinical treatment.

Our research focuses on imaging probe technology to measure cellular signaling activity with single molecule/single cell level sensitivity. We work in the fields of personalized diagnostics. Our clinical translational goals are presently focused on cancers of blood origin and liquid biopsy.

Immunotherapy-Small Molecule Functional Drug Screening

Each person's cancer is unique. Our lab has developed a technology for the multiplexed quantification of proteins in single cells with exceptionally sensitive evaluation of the drug response. With scientists, clinicians, engineers, and bioinformaticians at the Knight Cancer Institute, we are accelerating a platform technology to better identify the best medicines for individuals newly diagnosed with leukemia and in situations where an individual's cancer has returned.
